Crypt of the NecroDancer: Rhythm Game Enters the Mobile Realm on Android

Crunchyroll, the leading anime streaming service, has just released the critically acclaimed rhythm roguelike, Crypt of the NecroDancer, on Android. Now available as "Crunchyroll: NecroDancer," this beat-driven adventure challenges players with its unique gameplay.

Originally launched on PC in April 2015 by Brace Yourself Games, the game previously had limited releases on iOS (2016) and Android (2021). This Crunchyroll release, however, boasts a significant content upgrade for both iOS and Android platforms.

What awaits you in Crypt of the NecroDancer?

Players take on the role of Cadence, a treasure hunter's daughter searching for her missing parent within a rhythmically challenging crypt. The roguelike nature ensures each playthrough is unique. Fifteen playable characters, each with distinct styles and difficulties, add replayability. Danny Baranowsky's original soundtrack provides the pulse for the action, demanding players synchronize their movements and attacks with the music. Failure to keep the beat results in immediate failure. A diverse cast of enemies, from dancing skeletons to hip-hop dragons, adds to the vibrant experience.

More Than Just a Port

This mobile version isn't just a simple port; it includes remixes, fresh content, and even Danganronpa character skins. Cross-platform multiplayer and mod support enhance the experience. Further expanding the game's appeal, DLC featuring Hatsune Miku and the Synchrony expansion is planned for later this year.

Crunchyroll subscribers can access Crypt of the NecroDancer immediately through the Google Play Store. For more gaming news, check out our upcoming coverage of the Star Trek Lower Decks x Doctor Who crossover.
