The Witcher 4 was unveiled to the world during the Game Awards in December 2024, accompanied by a thrilling trailer that introduced Ciri as the game’s protagonist. This shift from the series' traditional protagonist, Geralt, sparked widespread discussion among fans.

In an interview with VGC, The Witcher 4’s Narrative Director, Phillipp Weber, addressed the community's reactions. Weber expressed his personal attachment to Geralt but emphasized the team's dedication to making Ciri's role compelling. "The best thing that we can do, and I think this is really our goal, is to prove that with Ciri, we can do a lot of interesting things so we can really make it worth it because this decision to have Ciri as a protagonist wasn’t made yesterday, we started making this a very long time ago," he stated.

The game is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, though a specific release date has not yet been announced. Stay tuned to our site for the latest updates on The Witcher 4!
