From the iconic *Incredible Hulk* TV series to the groundbreaking *Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.*, and the gritty Netflix shows featuring characters like Daredevil and Luke Cage, Marvel Comics have consistently inspired a diverse array of television adaptations. While past efforts to integrate these live-action series with the broader Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) have encountered challenges—recall the fleeting impact of shows like *Runaways* and *Cloak and Dagger*—Marvel Studios initiated a transformative phase in 2021. This pivotal shift began when Disney+ was stocked with new series that seamlessly wove into the narrative fabric of the MCU, underscoring Marvel Studios' renowned multi-billion-dollar film franchise.
As the charming *Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man* swings onto screens as the 13th Disney+ Marvel series in just four years, it's an opportune moment to reflect on the Marvel Studios television offerings that preceded it. Much like the Avengers sharing a post-battle shawarma meal in the ruins of New York, the Marvel enthusiasts at IGN gathered to rank all 12 of the Disney+ Marvel TV shows. This comprehensive ranking will be updated once *Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man* concludes its run.

It's startling to acknowledge that *Secret Invasion*, despite its potential, ended up being the lowest-ranked series by our panel. In the comic book universe, *Secret Invasion* is a landmark event, but the show disregarded much of its source material. Director Ali Selim's admitted disinterest in the comics led to a narrative that failed to capture the essence of this significant storyline. While the MCU often benefits from fresh interpretations, *Secret Invasion* fell short, attempting to mimic the espionage atmosphere of *Captain America: The Winter Soldier* but delivering slow pacing, an AI-generated opening, the unfortunate demise of a cherished female character, and a peculiar new super-powered figure unlikely to reappear. This combination left *Secret Invasion* at the bottom of our Disney+ MCU series rankings.
*Echo* marks a significant leap in quality from *Secret Invasion*, though it lands in the 11th position. Alaqua Cox reprises her role as the deaf Cheyenne superhero Echo from *Hawkeye*, in a narrative that delves into her life back on the reservation, balancing her powers, past, and complex relationship with the villainous Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio). Despite a shortened episode run that left some viewers wanting more, *Echo* boasts electrifying action sequences, including a standout opening fight with Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox). It's a pioneering series with a predominantly indigenous cast, both in front of and behind the camera, offering a unique, emotionally charged entry into the MCU.
Despite starring Oscar Isaac, *Moon Knight* finds itself lower in our rankings than expected. The series delves into the multiple personalities of Marc Spector, blending dark antihero themes with mystery and action. Its surrealist approach draws inspiration from *One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest*, *Indiana Jones*, and Marvel's *Legion*. The introduction of Scarlet Scarab (May Calamawy) adds a fresh character to the MCU, complemented by strong performances from F. Murray Abraham as Khonshu and Ethan Hawke as Dr. Arthur Harrow. However, *Moon Knight* didn't resonate enough with voters to secure a higher position or warrant a second season.
*The Falcon and the Winter Soldier* promised much but struggled to fully take flight. With Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan reprising their roles from the films, their chemistry was a highlight, yet the series was weighed down by ambiguous moral dilemmas, a heavy focus on the Blip timeline, and a lean towards espionage rather than the anticipated high-flying action. As the second Marvel TV show on Disney+, it was the first to be developed by Marvel Studios, originally set to debut before being delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This delay may have impacted its final product, but *The Falcon and the Winter Soldier* remains crucial for understanding the current MCU, particularly in relation to the upcoming *Thunderbolts* film.
