Conquering a level in the cooperative game *R.E.P.O.* is no small feat. Once you and your squad triumph and reach the Service Station, you have the opportunity to purchase various weapons and upgrades, including the valuable Energy Crystals. Let's delve into what these Energy Crystals do in *R.E.P.O.* and how you can acquire more of them.
Energy Crystals are radiant yellow gems found at the Service Station, becoming available after you complete the first level or location. They come with a price tag ranging from $7,000 to $9,000. These crystals are most affordable at the start of the game when the difficulty level is at its lowest. If you navigate through the initial levels without taking too much damage from monsters, you'll have a better chance of purchasing these crystals right away.
After investing in an Energy Crystal, it will spawn an Energy Container/Station inside your R.E.P.O. truck. This container is a game-changer, enabling you to recharge essential tools like the Valuables or Extraction Tracker by simply placing them inside. This not only reduces the need to buy replacements but also saves your team money over time. To recharge an item, place it in the bin next to the container, which you can identify by its yellow lightning bolt symbol. Get ready to tackle the next Clown, Gnome, or Shadow Child with fully charged gear.
Once purchased, Energy Crystals automatically appear in the container, eliminating any concerns about them not being in the truck waiting for you like other items. However, they do not have an unlimited lifespan and will eventually break, requiring replacement to continue using the container. Typically, one crystal can refill four battery sections of an item, and six crystals are enough to completely fill the Energy Container.
Energy Crystals are exclusively available at the Service Station, and as noted, they can be quite expensive. To ensure you always have enough cash to purchase these crucial items, it's vital to loot and scavenge as many valuables as possible in each level. You'll only be sent to the Service Station by the Taxman if you pass a level with sufficient funds.
In particularly challenging locations, it might be wise to aim to pass the level with just enough money in the bank rather than risking everything. This strategy can help you preserve your valuables and ensure you have the resources needed for future upgrades.
And that's the scoop on what Energy Crystals do in *R.E.P.O.* and how to get more of them. Happy gaming!
