Free PS Plus Games for January 2025 Are Available Now

Sony's January 2025 PlayStation Plus game lineup is now live on the PlayStation Store. This month features Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, a controversial 2024 PlayStation 5 title from Rocksteady Studios (creators of the Batman: Arkham series).

Every month, Sony offers free games to all PlayStation Plus subscribers (Essential, Extra, and Premium tiers). These games remain in subscribers' libraries as long as their subscription is active. December 2024's offerings (It Takes Two, Aliens: Dark Descent, and Temtem) were available until January 6th. Sony announced the January 2025 lineup on New Year's Day, launching on January 7th.

The January 2025 PlayStation Plus games—Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered, and The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe—are redeemable until February 3rd. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, the most recent and largest title (79.43 GB on PS5), faced criticism upon its release. Many PlayStation Plus subscribers may be experiencing it for the first time this month.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered is the only game without a native PS5 version or upgrade. While playable via backwards compatibility on PS5, it requires 31.55 GB and doesn't utilize PS5 enhancements.

The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe offers native PS4 and PS5 versions, expanding upon the 2013 original with added features and accessibility options. Its file sizes are relatively small (5.10 GB on PS4, 5.77 GB on PS5).

To add all three games to their PS5 library, subscribers need approximately 117 GB of free space. Sony is expected to reveal February 2025's PlayStation Plus games near the end of January. Further PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium game additions are planned throughout the year.
