New Game Release from Pokemon Studio Unveiled

Game Freak, renowned for its Pokémon series, has unveiled a new adventure RPG, Pand Land, in Japan. This isn't the studio's first foray outside Pokémon; titles like Little Town Hero and HarmoKnight have garnered significant attention. While recent Pokémon games have faced criticism due to shorter development cycles, Game Freak simultaneously developed Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and the Gen 9 DLC, Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, since early 2022, with another major Pokémon title in the works.

Pand Land's release demonstrates Game Freak's creative diversification. This adventure RPG, available on Android and iOS in Japan, casts players as expedition captains exploring Pandoland's vast ocean world for treasure. The game offers a relaxed exploration experience, complemented by combat and dungeon-crawling, playable solo or with friends via multiplayer.

Pand Land's Limited Release

Currently, Pand Land is exclusive to Japan. While an international release date remains unannounced, the game's potential global launch isn't ruled out. Game Freak development director Yuji Saito, in the official announcement by publisher WonderPlanet, emphasized the game's ambition: "We've been working hard to create a game that takes the scale of a console game and makes it easy and simple to play."

Pokémon fans can rest assured that Pand Land won't compromise future Pokémon installments. The highly anticipated Pokémon Legends: Z-A is slated for release next year, generating excitement based on its predecessor's popularity.
