Sony, in collaboration with game developer Santa Monica Studio, has unveiled the Dark Odyssey collection, an exciting update for God of War Ragnarök set to launch next week. This update introduces a range of in-game equipment inspired by one of the franchise's most iconic outfits, offering players a fresh aesthetic to enjoy.

Detailed in a PlayStation.Blog post, the update is part of the celebration of the God of War series' 20th anniversary. The Dark Odyssey collection, which will be available as a free update on March 20, is a highlight for all God of War Ragnarök players on both PlayStation 5 and PC. This collection features a sleek, black-and-gold theme, enhancing the visual appeal of Kratos, Atreus, and Freya as they navigate the realms of Norse mythology.

The centerpiece of the Dark Odyssey collection is a new appearance and armor set for Kratos, reminiscent of a skin previously exclusive to players who conquered God of War 2 on God Mode difficulty. This coveted set can be claimed from any Lost Items chest in the base game or instantly in the roguelike Valhalla mode upon the update's release. Additionally, the update introduces the ability to customize Kratos' weapons' appearance without affecting their abilities, adding a new layer of personalization to the gameplay experience.
