"Guide to Acquiring Tier II/Fine Gear in Avowed"

Author:Kristen Update:Apr 25,2025

In *Avowed*, keeping your weapons upgraded is crucial for surviving the challenges that await. At the start, you'll mainly come across Common, or Level I, weapons and enemies. But as you progress, they'll scale up to Level II, necessitating Fine gear to match the increased difficulty. Here's your guide on how to acquire Tier II/Fine weapons and armor in *Avowed*.

How to Upgrade Weapons and Armor from Common (I) to Fine (II) in Avowed

In *Avowed*, not all weapons and armor start as Fine Quality; some need upgrading. Gear effectiveness is measured in two ways: Quality and Level. Quality is indicated by a descriptor, color, and Roman Numeral. Common, Green gear is marked as I, while Fine, Blue gear is noted as II. Each Quality tier also has three sub-levels, ranging from +1 to +3.

To elevate gear from Common (I) to Fine (II), you'll need to visit a Party Camp, where you'll find a workbench for upgrading your equipment. Progressing through each sub-level from +1 to +3 requires specific materials, which vary based on the gear type. Once you reach the +3 sub-level, you can further upgrade to Fine (II) using Adra, a rare and valuable crystal. You can obtain Adra by completing Quests, purchasing from Merchants, or dismantling Unique weapons and armor.

Where to Find and Purchase Fine (II) Weapons and Armor in Avowed

Avowed Fine GearWhile upgrading is a viable option, it can be resource-intensive. Alternatively, you can search for Fine (II) weapons and armor in the Living Lands, particularly in Dawnshore, though these are rare. Level II enemies, especially Bounties, may drop Fine (II) gear. Keep in mind, Common gear is less effective against these tougher foes, so stock up on health potions for safety.

Fine weapons and armor are also available for purchase in Paradis, which becomes accessible to the Envoy shortly after defeating the Dreamscourge-infested bear boss in Dawnshore, early in the Main Quest. In Paradis, a pair of sister Merchants near the Bounty Board offer valuable Fine gear. Merlylin specializes in magical items like grimoires and wands, while her blacksmith sister, as shown in the image above, sells more conventional weapons and armor.

And there you have it—that's how you can get your hands on Fine weapons and armor in *Avowed*.
