"Guide to Capturing Monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds"

Slaying monsters in *Monster Hunter Wilds* is thrilling, but capturing them is essential for collecting all their valuable parts. Here's a detailed guide on how to effectively capture monsters and gather the necessary tools to do so.

Capturing Monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds

The process of capturing monsters in *Monster Hunter Wilds* is straightforward yet requires precision. Start by weakening the monster until it's vulnerable. Your Palico will alert you when a monster is weak, but you can also spot other signs such as a skull icon appearing over the monster on your minimap, or the monster limping and drooling, indicating low HP.

Once the monster is weakened, it's time to set your trap. You can use either a Shock Trap or a Pitfall Trap. Place the trap strategically on the ground and lure the monster into it. When the monster triggers the trap, it will be immobilized for a few seconds, giving you the perfect opportunity to use Tranq Bombs. One or two well-placed Tranq Bombs should be enough to capture the monster. Alternatively, you can use Tranq Ammo or Tranq Blades, depending on your preferred weapon and play style.

Successfully capturing a monster will conclude the quest and transport you back to Base Camp, where you can collect your rewards and monster parts.

How to Get Traps and Tranq Items

While your Palico may occasionally set traps for you, it's wise to come prepared with your own. There are two primary types of traps: Pitfall Traps and Shock Traps. To craft a Pitfall Trap, you'll need a Trap Tool and a Net, which can be either Spiderwebs or Ivy. For a Shock Trap, combine a Trap Tool with a Thunderbug Capacitor.

For Tranq items, you can craft Tranq Bombs using a Sleep Herb and a Parashroom. These Tranq Bombs can then be combined with Throwing Knives to create Tranq Blades or with Normal Ammo to produce Tranq Ammo, depending on your needs and equipment.

By mastering the art of capturing monsters and preparing the right tools, you'll enhance your gameplay in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. For more tips and detailed information on the game, be sure to check out The Escapist.
