"Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Update 1.2 Adds Steam Workshop, Barber Shops"

Author:Kristen Update:Apr 18,2025

Warhorse Studios has unveiled a substantial free update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II—version 1.2. This latest patch brings two exciting new features: seamless mod integration via Steam Workshop and an innovative barber shop system.

The integration with Steam Workshop streamlines the modding experience, allowing players to download and install mods directly within the game without relying on external platforms. However, this feature hinges on mod creators uploading their content to Steam Workshop. Currently, the selection is limited but includes intriguing options like:

  • Free Saving: Replenishes the "Saviour Schnapps" item, enabling unlimited saves.
  • Helmet of Henry VIII: Introduces a horned helmet inspired by historical designs.
  • Tourist: Disables NPC reactions to trespassing, granting access to restricted story locations.
  • Pebbles the Zebra: Transforms your horse into a zebra with a unique visual effect.

While the current mod selection is modest, the community is poised for rapid growth. With over a thousand mods already on Nexus Mods, it's anticipated that creators will soon share their work on both platforms. Although Steam Workshop might not match Nexus Mods in scale, popular mods are expected to emerge there soon.

In addition to mod support, the update introduces NPC barbers in Rattay and Kuttenberg where players can customize their hairstyle and beard. Choosing a new look also temporarily enhances the protagonist's Charisma stat.

Update 1.2 offers more than just these headline features, as detailed in the comprehensive changelog on the game’s official website. Warhorse Studios has implemented over a thousand fixes and improvements across various game aspects, including balancing, refined animations, and more realistic NPC behaviors. The crime system has been fine-tuned for greater precision.

Other significant updates include:

  • Revised daily schedules for NPCs to enhance realism.
  • Enhanced horse riding mechanics and horse trading systems.
  • Improved character visuals and overall performance, especially in Kuttenberg and during large-scale battles.

Warhorse Studios plans to discuss these changes in more detail during a developer livestream next Thursday. The studio remains dedicated to the game's development, with three paid DLC expansions scheduled for spring, summer, and winter.

With the addition of Steam Workshop integration, new cosmetic options, and numerous gameplay enhancements, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II continues to offer an increasingly immersive medieval experience.
