Marvel Rivals, the popular hero shooter, is a hit on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. However, NetEase has confirmed it won't be coming to the original Nintendo Switch due to performance limitations. But what about the Nintendo Switch 2?

We recently spoke with Marvel Rivals producer Weicong Wu at the DICE Summit. He revealed that a Switch 2 release is a strong possibility. Wu stated, "We're already in contact with Nintendo and working on some development kits. Whenever we can provide great performance on Switch 2, we're open to it. The original Switch couldn't deliver the experience our gameplay requires. If the Switch 2 achieves that, we're in."

PlayThe Nintendo Switch 2, officially announced last month, promises to be a more powerful console. Rumored mouse-like controller functionality could enhance the shooter experience, though details are scarce.

While the Switch 2 lacks a release date (a Nintendo Direct is scheduled for April 2nd), Marvel Rivals is available now on other platforms. Our 8/10 review praised the game, stating it "may be following closely in the slipstream of the hero shooters that have come before it, but by doing so Marvel Rivals has firmly placed itself in a strong position to take the crown for itself." The Human Torch and The Thing join the roster on February 21st.
