In celebration of Metro's 15th anniversary, 4A Games is giving away Metro 2033 Redux for free. This offer is valid for the next 48 hours, announced via Metro’s official Twitter (X) account on April 14. You can grab Metro 2033 Redux on Steam and Xbox until April 16 at 3 PM UTC / 5 PM CET / 9 AM PT.

This initiative aims to introduce new players to the series' origins. Additionally, 4A Games shared their anniversary plans in a blog post on March 16. They emphasized, "These circumstances are incredibly challenging, the situation remains dangerous and not within our control, but we are currently as safe as possible, and we want to manage your expectations around the reveal of the next Metro title, it will be ready when it is ready, and we can’t wait for you to see it."

Currently, 4A Games is working on two triple-A projects: the next installment in the Metro series and a new intellectual property. While details about the new IP remain under wraps, they provided insights into the development of the next Metro game.

The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has profoundly influenced the narrative direction of the upcoming Metro title. As stated in a recent update, "As we said in our last studio update, in 2022 a full-scale Russian invasion changed how we wanted to tell the story of the next Metro game. As art became life for many of our developers in Ukraine, we drew from that lived experience to create an even darker story, those themes already present in Metro becoming ever-more apparent and important."
