Microsoft Making Big Changes to Game Pass Quests and Rewards

Author:Kristen Update:Jan 29,2025

Enhanced Xbox Game Pass Rewards Program Launching January 7th

Starting January 7th, Xbox Game Pass is significantly upgrading its rewards program, introducing Quests for PC users and enhancing point-earning opportunities. However, access to these new features is exclusively for players aged 18 and older.

This update aims to create more engaging and age-appropriate gaming experiences. The revamped system includes daily, weekly, and monthly quests, along with the return of popular weekly streaks. Players can earn points by playing any Game Pass title for a minimum of 15 minutes.

Key Changes:

  • PC Game Pass Quests: PC Game Pass subscribers (18+) will now have access to the same Quests and Rewards previously exclusive to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
  • New Quest Types: These include daily play challenges, weekly streaks with escalating point multipliers (up to 4x for streaks of 4+ weeks), and monthly challenges encouraging exploration of the Game Pass catalog (playing 4 or 8 different games).
  • PC Weekly Bonus: A 150-point bonus for playing at least 15 minutes for five or more days a week.
  • Age Restriction: Access to the Rewards Hub and all new Quest features is restricted to players 18 and older. Younger players can only earn rewards through parental purchases from the Microsoft Store.

The improved system simplifies point earning with consistent daily, weekly, and monthly opportunities, rewarding consistent playtime and game exploration. The return of weekly streaks with increased multipliers adds a compelling incentive for regular engagement.

Microsoft emphasizes its commitment to age-appropriate content, explaining the age restriction as a measure to ensure responsible gaming experiences. This update provides new ways for eligible players to maximize their Game Pass subscription benefits.
