"Nintendo Unveils Today App: A Hub for Fans' News and Content"

Author:Kristen Update:Apr 17,2025

Nintendo Today is a fresh mobile app directly from the creators of Super Mario Bros., designed to deliver Nintendo news straight to fans in a more immediate way than ever before. The legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto announced this new initiative as a surprise during the March 2025 Nintendo Direct. Available for immediate download on the Apple App Store and Google Play, this app promises a range of exciting features for Nintendo enthusiasts.

Serving as both a daily calendar and a news hub, Nintendo Today ensures that fans receive the latest information as soon as it's available. Miyamoto highlighted that following the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, users can log into the app to stay updated, with news updates promised on a daily basis.

Unlike traditional Nintendo Directs, Nintendo Today offers a more continuous stream of updates, encouraging fans to stay engaged even without major announcements. The app features daily greetings from beloved characters like Mario, Pikmin, and Animal Crossing residents, adding a personal touch to the user experience. In addition to news, the feed will include special Nintendo-themed content, such as the "Too Stuck to Pluck" Pikmin 4 comic and "Pearls of Wisdom" from Animal Crossing's Pascal.

While Nintendo Today may not have been the blockbuster reveal of a new Zelda or Super Smash Bros. game that some fans were hoping for, it provides an additional platform for fans to connect with their favorite franchise.
