In a recent interview with Game File, Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe offered insights on the difficulties of adapting Palworld for the Nintendo Switch and alluded to the game's future expansions. While not dismissing a Switch version outright, Mizobe voiced concerns about technical hurdles. Discussions are ongoing about "new platforms" for Palworld's release, but Pocketpair has no announcements at present, as Mizobe stated.

Despite the game's demanding PC requirements making a Switch port difficult, Mizobe remained hopeful about broadening the game's accessibility. Earlier this month, he remarked, concerning a Switch port, "Palworld’s specs on PC are higher than the Switch’s specs. So maybe it’s hard to port to Switch just for technical reasons."

Regarding future platform availability, Mizobe hasn't specified if Palworld might launch on PlayStation, Nintendo, or mobile platforms. In a Bloomberg interview earlier this year, Mizobe confirmed that Pocketpair is negotiating to bring the game to more platforms. Furthermore, Mizobe indicated that the company welcomes partnership or acquisition proposals but hasn't engaged in buyout discussions with Microsoft.

In addition to platform discussions, Mizobe unveiled aspirations for the game's multiplayer capabilities. The forthcoming arena mode, which the Palworld head described as "a bit of an experiment," sets the stage for further multiplayer experiences in the game. "My ambition is to realize a genuine PvP mode in Palworld," Mizobe stated. "I envision something more akin to Ark or Rust."

Ark and Rust are both well-liked survival games that boast demanding environments, intricate resource management systems, and extensive player interactions including forming alliances and groups. Both games provide a blend of PvE and PvP components. In ARK, players must grapple with perilous wildlife, encompassing dinosaurs and other prehistoric beings, as well as environmental hardships such as extreme weather and natural catastrophes. Rust presents comparable environmental obstacles, including wildlife and radiation zones.

Palworld, Pocketpair's creature collection and survival shooter game, has captivated the gaming community's interest since its release. Players can capture creatures called Pals, use them to build bases, among numerous other functions, and fight for survival.

Palworld had a spectacular launch, selling 15 million copies on PC in its first month. The game also attracted 10 million players on Xbox, where it is included in the Game Pass subscription service. Palworld is set to release a significant update with the free Sakurajima update on Thursday, introducing a new island, the much-anticipated PvP arena, and more.
