The Pokemon Company Issues Statement on Pokemon TCG Prismatic Evolutions Shortage

The Pokémon Company addresses ongoing shortages of its highly anticipated Scarlet and Violet—Prismatic Evolutions trading card game expansion. Acknowledging widespread global shortages, the company issued a statement expressing gratitude for fans' patience and confirming that reprints are currently in production. These reprints are slated to reach licensed distributors soon, although a precise release date remains unannounced.

The statement attributed the shortages to "high demand," avoiding specific mention of scalping, a common fan theory. Despite the delays, the Pokémon Company assures fans that additional Prismatic Evolutions products are on the way. These include a Mini Tin and Surprise Box (February 7th), a Booster Bundle and Accessory Pouch Special Collection (March 7th and April 25th respectively), a Super-Premium Collection (May 16th), and a Premium Figure Collection (September 26th). Players of the Pokémon TCG Live mobile game can also obtain cards from the set starting January 16th via the Battle Pass. The original January 17th release date for the core set remains unaffected by this announcement.
