Rockstar Releases Bully Anniversary Update After Six Years

Rockstar, the creators behind the iconic GTA series, have just released an Anniversary Edition update for Bully on mobile devices. After a six-year hiatus, this update brings fresh changes exclusively to mobile players, leaving console and PC gamers waiting on the sidelines.

Rockstar Hasn’t Forgotten about Bullworth Academy!

Bully: Anniversary Edition now boasts new language support, alongside a patch that emphasizes stability improvements and bug fixes. Notably, Rockstar has temporarily disabled Friends Challenges, but they have introduced enhancements like Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO) for Android users with compatible devices. Additionally, the update features an updated app icon and introduces haptic feedback across both Android and iOS platforms.

Several missions have been fine-tuned; for instance, 'That Bitch' no longer features an impossible-to-pick lock on Mandy's locker, and 'Weed Killer' now progresses correctly even if you break the window prematurely. The infamous police cars in 'The Rumble' that previously fell through the floor have been fixed, as well as issues where enemies would inexplicably refuse to engage Jimmy in combat. This update also addresses crashes that could occur when starting a new game or loading a save from the pause menu.

What Do Players Have to Say about Bully: Anniversary Edition?

The gaming community has long clamored for a sequel, Bully 2, but Rockstar's focus has shifted elsewhere. Rumors circulated about Bully 2's development in the 2010s, but the project was ultimately shelved in favor of Red Dead Redemption 2 and the ever-expanding GTA Online. With GTA 6 on the horizon, hopes for Bully 2 seem dim, particularly as many of the original team members have moved on from Rockstar. While this update isn't a full remaster or sequel, it's a meaningful upgrade for mobile enthusiasts.

For newcomers, Bully offers a unique experience within Rockstar's portfolio. It's an open-world sandbox set in the fictional Bullworth Academy, where you play as Jimmy Hopkins, a 15-year-old navigating the trials and tribulations of school life with a rebellious streak. The game is infused with Rockstar's signature humor and opportunities for mischief.

Interested players can dive into Bully: Anniversary Edition on the Google Play Store for €7.99, which also supports full gamepad functionality.
