The Samsung 990 Evo Plus is an ideal choice for both gaming PCs and PlayStation 5 consoles. It surpasses Sony's minimum speed requirements for the PS5, delivering sequential read speeds of up to 7,250MB/s and write speeds of up to 6,300MB/s. While it's not as fast as the 990 Pro, the main distinction is that the 990 Evo Plus is a DRAM-less drive. However, this doesn't impact PS5 performance, and for gaming PCs, it supports HMB (host memory buffer), which compensates for the absence of DRAM by using a minimal amount of system RAM. Gamers won't notice any difference in performance.
