Silksong Confirmed: Release Date Imminent

Hollow Knight: Silksong is Real and in Development

Recent speculation surrounding a cryptic cake-related profile picture change by a Hollow Knight co-creator has been laid to rest. While the cake image proved unrelated to a Silksong announcement, Team Cherry’s Marketing and PR Manager, Matthew "Leth" Griffin, has confirmed that Hollow Knight: Silksong is indeed real, actively in development, and will eventually be released. This is the first official update on the game's status in over a year and a half.

Six Years in the Making

Initially revealed in February 2019 with a planned release in the first half of 2023, Silksong was delayed in May 2023. Team Cherry cited the game's expanded scope and their desire to refine the experience as reasons for the postponement. The delay, nearing two years now, has understandably generated both excitement and impatience among fans. The game promises a new kingdom to explore, nearly 150 new enemies, and a challenging new difficulty mode, "Silk Soul."

A Long-Awaited Journey

While no release date has been announced, Griffin's confirmation provides much-needed reassurance. Fans eagerly await further details about the game's release and features. Hollow Knight: Silksong will follow Hornet, the princess-protector of Hallownest, on a perilous quest to the kingdom's peak.
