Super Mario Party Surpasses Sales Milestone

Super Mario Party Jamboree Reigns Supreme in Japan's Nintendo Sales Charts

Super Mario Party Jamboree secured the top spot on Japan's best-selling Nintendo game charts for the week of December 30, 2024, to January 5, 2025, selling an impressive 117,307 units during that period. This success follows its strong launch in October 2024 and continued critical acclaim both domestically and internationally.

The game's popularity is undeniable. With a total of 1,071,568 units sold in Japan as of January 5th, 2025, Super Mario Party Jamboree significantly outperformed other major releases. Its sales surpassed those of Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake by a threefold margin and even outstripped Minecraft's weekly sales by a factor of seven. The game's impressive performance also placed it above established Nintendo Switch giants like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in terms of weekly sales.

This latest achievement adds to Jamboree's already impressive track record; it previously topped US sales charts upon its release. The game's appeal lies in its blend of classic Mario Party gameplay with fresh mechanics, new game boards, modes, and an extensive roster of characters, including options for up to 20 players in certain modes.

Below is a snapshot of the top 10 Nintendo games in Japan for the specified period:
