Universe for Sale Is a New Visual Novel Set in a Bizarre Bazaar on Planet Jupiter

Akupara Games and Tmesis Studio's latest adventure, Universe for Sale, is now available. Following earlier successes like The Darkside Detective series and Zoeti, Akupara Games delivers another intriguing title.

A Universe Up for Grabs?

The game unfolds on a Jupiter space station, a bizarre marketplace shrouded in acid rain and mystery. Here, witty orangutans manage the docks, and cultists barter flesh for enlightenment. The universe itself is for sale, thanks to Lila, a woman with the remarkable ability to create universes from her very hand.

Beginning in a mining colony's ramshackle town, you play as the Master, a skeletal cultist from the Cult of Detachment – a character both unsettling and captivating. Exploring rickety tea shops and other unusual establishments, you eventually encounter Honin's Tea House, Lila's shop, where a compelling mystery unfolds as you shift between Lila's and the Master's perspectives.

Playing as Lila involves a universe-creation minigame, mixing and matching ingredients to produce visually stunning worlds. The Master's journey delves into the Cult of Detachment's philosophies and encounters with the Church of Many Gods.

The narrative gradually unfolds, prompting speculation about the overarching plot. Each character, whether human, skeletal, or robotic, possesses a unique story, and the richly detailed world invites exploration.
