The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Premiere Date Revealed at IGN Fan Fest 2025

IGN Fan Fest 2025 delivered an exclusive premiere date for The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2: May 4, 2025. The announcement included an exclusive clip and interviews with Scott Gimple (Chief Content Officer of The Walking Dead Universe), Lauren Cohan (Maggie), and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan).

Cohan offered insight into Maggie's mental state heading into Season 2, hinting at familiar family tensions amidst the apocalyptic setting: “Sadly, not everything is rosy. My son’s a teenager, Ginny’s a teenage girl – relatable domestic dynamics play out alongside the usual apocalyptic struggles for survival.”

Morgan discussed Negan's precarious position, now under the control of The Dama and The Croat: "He's in a tough spot, scheming to regain control, but it's not a comfortable place for him." He also reflected on his iconic weapon, Lucille: "I love that thing! It brings back fond memories... not for Lauren!"

Gimple teased the season's conflict: "No single big bad. It's more complex, more political, and then it gets physical."

IGN also shared the opening minutes of the Season 2 premiere.
