Transform your device into a versatile portable display for your Camera, Gaming Console, Laptop, PC, or any other device with HDMI output by using an HDMI to USB C dongle, also known as a UVC capture device or Video Capture Card. Please note, this is different from a USB C hub or a USB C to HDMI cable. Additionally, Noir supports cameras, endoscopes, and microscopes that feature USB streaming capabilities.
Noir facilitates high-quality UVC video streaming and UAC audio streaming, with the flexibility to choose between OpenGL ES and Vulkan for the graphics backend. The free version of Noir provides essential features and an immersive experience, albeit with ads outside of the preview. For an enhanced experience with additional features and to contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of Noir, consider upgrading to the Pro version.

Why doesn't Noir recognize my device?
Possible reasons include your phone or tablet not supporting USB Host (OTG) or the connected device not being a Video Capture Card. In some cases, your device may not supply enough power, requiring a USB hub for additional power.
Why is the preview so laggy?
Lag is often due to the USB version. Ensure you use a USB 3.0 data cable and port with a USB 3.0 capture card. For USB 2.0 capture cards, use MJPEG video format and do not exceed 1080p30fps, though some may support up to 1080p50fps.
Why did my capture card, which was working fine, suddenly fail to connect?
This issue is typically resolved by restarting your phone or tablet.
Why does my gaming console or Video playback device show a black screen when connected?
A common issue with PS5 and PS4, often due to HDCP being enabled. Disable HDCP in the PS console settings. Note that PS3 does not support disabling HDCP. Some devices may automatically enable HDCP during video playback, resulting in a black screen. HDMI splitters that bypass HDCP can be a solution, though not recommended here.
Why are resolutions other than 16:9 and 4:3 not supported?
Current capture cards generally do not support ratios beyond these. Use Noir's Stretch feature to specify desired ratios, ensuring your capture card's EDID supports it and your device is set to the appropriate output resolution.
Special thanks to Genki for their support in Noir's growth.
