Alpha Status Strategy Game Battledom Enters Fray

Author:Kristen Update:Jan 20,2025

Indie game developer Sander Frenken has revealed that his new game, Battledom, is currently undergoing alpha testing. This RTS-lite title acts as a spiritual successor to Frenken's 2020 hit, Herodom. Developed over approximately two years by the part-time developer, Battledom closely resembles Frenken's original vision for Herodom.

Battledom features flexible RTS battle mechanics, letting players freely maneuver units across the battlefield. Players directly target enemies and manually control siege weapons for devastating attacks. Strategic formations add another layer of depth to combat.

Players will use coins to recruit units, initially equipped with only basic weapons and no armor. However, units can be customized with crafted weapons and armor, each affecting stats like range, accuracy, defense, and attack power.

Resources like wood, leather, and coal are gathered, then used to craft items at various workshops, such as the blacksmith's or magician's.

Frenken is widely recognized for Herodom, which holds a 4.6 App Store rating. Herodom features over 55 collectible heroes, 150+ units and siege weapons, and historically-inspired battles. Progression unlocks new hairstyles, bodies, crops, and farm animals.

Interested players can participate in the Battledom alpha test by downloading TestFlight on their iOS devices. For updates and news, follow Sander Frenken on X or Reddit, or explore his other games on the App Store.
