Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost 2025: A Ghoulish Vote and Growing Concerns

Destiny 2 players are facing a chilling choice: vote for either "Slashers" or "Spectres" themed armor sets in the upcoming Festival of the Lost event. Inspired by iconic horror figures like Jason Voorhees, Ghostface, Babadook, La Llorona, and even Slenderman, these new cosmetic sets promise a spooky treat for players. Titans, Hunters, and Warlocks will each receive unique designs based on the chosen theme.

The announcement, however, comes amidst a backdrop of growing discontent within the Destiny 2 community. Episode Revenant's conclusion has been marred by a significant number of bugs and glitches, impacting gameplay and player enjoyment. Issues such as broken tonics and other gameplay problems have fueled frustration, leading to a noticeable decline in player engagement.

Bungie's focus on the October Festival of the Lost, ten months in advance, has surprised some players. Many feel the studio should prioritize addressing the current issues plaguing the game before promoting future events. The lack of direct acknowledgement of these problems in the initial announcement further exacerbates community concerns. While the new armor sets offer a thrilling prospect, the underlying issues remain a significant point of contention. The upcoming event may be a welcome distraction, but it doesn't address the core concerns surrounding the game's current state.
