NieR: Automata - Acquire Worn-Out Plates Unraveled

In NieR: Automata, resource scarcity varies greatly, but even abundant materials can be quickly depleted by weapon upgrades. Dented Plates, a frequently needed resource, are readily available, but efficient farming is key for accumulating the vast quantities required.

Optimal Dented Plate Farming Locations in NieR: Automata

Dented Plates are commonly dropped by:

  • Small Biped (all variants)
  • Small Flyer (all variants)
  • Small Sphere (all variants)

These basic enemies are prevalent throughout the game. However, relying solely on respawning enemies via fast travel isn't the most efficient method.

The most effective Dented Plate farm is the arena where you first encounter Adam in the main storyline.

Fast travel to the "Desert: Housing Complex" access point. Proceed deeper into the ruins and descend to the pit. Here, machines continuously respawn, with Small Bipeds being the most common. Their level may vary depending on your game progress, but even lower-level Bipeds offer a decent drop rate for Dented Plates. This location is also advantageous for farming Titanium Alloy.

Alternatively, the Forest Kingdom features numerous groups of spear-wielding Bipeds. These groups typically yield at least one Dented Plate. Exploring this area also provides opportunities to gather Beast Hide. Higher-level Bipeds have a greater chance of dropping Dented Plates, so progressing through the story increases both enemy density and the likelihood of higher-level drops.

Consider equipping drop-rate-enhancing plug-in chips to boost your yield. Remember, losing your chips upon death is permanent.
