Oscar Nominations 2025 Announced: Emilia Pérez, Wicked, and The Brutalist Among Top Nominees

The 97th Academy Awards nominations are in, and Emilia Pérez is the frontrunner, receiving a record-breaking 13 nominations—the most ever for a non-English language film.

Rachel Sennott and Bowen Yang announced the nominations on January 23rd during a live stream on the official Oscars YouTube channel. Jacques Audiard's Spanish crime thriller, Emilia Pérez, secured nominations across major categories, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Lead Actress (Karla Sofía Gascón).

Hot on its heels, Wicked and The Brutalist each garnered 10 nominations, while Conclave and A Complete Unknown received eight each.
