Following the establishment of Pokémon Works in March 2024, The Pokémon Company announced a gradual transition of Pokémon Sleep's development and operation from Select Button to Pokémon Works. This announcement, initially appearing in the Japanese app, indicates a shift in management, though the global app's news section hasn't yet reflected this change.

The announcement stated that development and operation were previously shared between Select Button and The Pokémon Company. The specifics of how this transition affects the global game remain unclear.

Pokémon Works, a collaboration between The Pokémon Company and Iruka Co., Ltd., is relatively new. Its representative director, Takuya Iwasaki, highlighted its commitment to creating a more immersive Pokémon experience. The company's location in Shinjuku, Tokyo, is notable for its proximity to ILCA, known for its work on Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl, and Pokémon HOME – a project to which Pokémon Works also contributed.

While Pokémon Works' past Pokémon-related projects are limited, their stated goal is to enhance the connection between players and Pokémon. The exact implementation of this vision within Pokémon Sleep is yet to be revealed.
