Rumor: Nintendo Switch 2 Logo Leaked

A leaked logo potentially reveals the Nintendo Switch 2's official name. Rumors and leaks surrounding Nintendo's next console have been circulating since President Shuntaro Furukawa confirmed its existence in early 2024. While a full unveiling is anticipated before March 2025, with a launch later this year, the exact timing and even the console's name remain unconfirmed by Nintendo.

Speculation intensified following Furukawa's May 2024 announcement, but Nintendo has remained tight-lipped. Although the name "Nintendo Switch 2" is widely assumed, it's not officially confirmed. Many believe the console will retain a similar design to the original Switch, suggesting a direct successor branding might be employed.

Comicbook.com reports a logo leak via Universo Nintendo's Necro Felipe on Bluesky. The logo closely resembles the original Switch logo, featuring stylized Joy-Cons above "Nintendo Switch," but with a "2" added beside the Joy-Cons. This seemingly confirms the prevalent "Nintendo Switch 2" moniker.

However, verification is pending, and some remain skeptical. Nintendo's history includes consoles with drastically different names from their predecessors (e.g., Wii U vs. Wii). The Wii U's unconventional name is considered by some to have negatively impacted sales, possibly prompting a more straightforward approach for the Switch successor.

Previous leaks seem to support the leaked logo and name, but gamers should avoid treating these rumors as definitive until official confirmation. Another rumor hints at a potentially imminent reveal, based on recent social media activity.
