Early in *Monster Hunter Wilds*, Sharp Fangs are found in the Windward Plains. These fangs are key ingredients for crafting early-game armor sets like Chatacabra and Talioth. To begin your hunt, consider undertaking optional quests like "Beware the Chatacabra" or "The Desert is Demanding." These quests grant you access to the Windward Plains with a generous 50-minute time limit. Remember to prepare with a hearty meal before embarking on your quest!

Once in the Windward Plains, head to Area 8—the largest area, teeming with smaller monsters. While several creatures here might drop Sharp Fangs, focusing on one specific monster will greatly increase your efficiency.

Gaijos: Your Primary Target

Gaijos, small leviathan-like creatures resembling crocodiles, are your best bet. They typically patrol riverbeds or swim in the water, usually alone. Use the interactive map to locate them easily; their positions are marked by purple diamonds near water sources. These creatures are relatively weak, making them quick and easy targets, even with starting weapons. After defeating a Gaijo, carve its carcass to receive a guaranteed 1 x Sharp Fang.

With several Gaijos spawning in Area 8, you can repeatedly farm them by re-entering the Windward Plains via the optional quests—the most efficient farming method.

Talioth: An Alternative Source

Talioth, bipedal creatures found in packs in Area 8 (and sometimes Area 13), also have a chance of dropping Sharp Fangs, though it's not guaranteed. While they're slightly tougher than Gaijos, they still pose little threat, even early in the game. Hunting Talioth also offers the added bonus of potentially completing the "The Desert is Demanding" optional quest, requiring you to slay eight Talioths.
