Stalker 2: For Science! Side Quest Walkthrough

In Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, players exploring The Zone will encounter various NPCs, leading to quests ranging from small tasks to substantial side missions like "For Science!". This mission involves Skif meeting Yaryk Mongoose, who requests activation of a second measuring device atop a silo. While short, it rewards players with a Malachite pass for access to the STC Malachite facilities.

1. Initiating the "For Science!" Side Quest:

To begin, find Yaryk Mongoose in the Central Elevator area of the Chemical Plant. Upon approaching, Mongoose will contact Skif via radio, requesting a meeting. Enter the Central Elevator, go left past the conveyor belts, ascend the rusty stairs, vault the railing, and speak with Mongoose. He'll explain the need to activate a second device on a nearby silo, initiating the "For Science!" mission.

2. Reaching the Silo's Summit:

Exit the room and climb to the building's roof, dispatching any rodents encountered. Use a broken window to access an exterior walkway and ladder leading to the silos. Equip your bolt-action weapon to counter electro anomalies. Proceed left along the silo's top to activate the second measuring device. Activating the device will attract a Bloodsucker horde. Choose to fight or evade them to reach Mongoose.

3. Confronting Yaryk Mongoose:

Upon reaching Mongoose, he'll explain the experiment's unintended consequences. Players can choose to kill Mongoose for endangering Skif or accept the reward and depart. Neither choice has significant repercussions. Killing Mongoose yields the Malachite pass from his corpse. However, choosing the peaceful option rewards both the Malachite pass and coupons. The pass grants access to the STC Malachite base, unless already accessible through the main storyline.
