SwitchArcade Round-Up: Reviews Featuring ‘Fitness Boxing feat. Hatsune Miku’, Plus New Releases, Sales, and Good-Byes

Author:Kristen Update:Jan 24,2025

Farewell, SwitchArcade Readers! This is the final regular SwitchArcade Round-Up from me. After several years, circumstances necessitate a change of course. But we're going out with a bang!

Reviews & Mini-Views

Fitness Boxing feat. HATSUNE MIKU ($49.99)

Following the success of Fitness Boxing Fist of the North Star, Imagineer’s collaboration with Hatsune Miku is a surprisingly effective fitness game. This Joy-Con-only title (no Pro Controller support) blends boxing and rhythm game mechanics for engaging workouts, mini-games, and customizable routines. It includes a dedicated mode featuring Miku's songs, alongside the standard tracklist. Features include difficulty settings, free training, warm-ups, progress tracking, and unlockable cosmetics. While the music is excellent, the main instructor's voice is a bit jarring. Best used to supplement, rather than replace, a comprehensive fitness plan. -Mikhail Madnani

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5

Magical Delicacy ($24.99)

Magical Delicacy cleverly combines Metroidvania exploration with cooking and crafting. The pixel art, music, and numerous settings are captivating. While the exploration is well-executed, inventory management and UI could use refinement. Some frame pacing issues were noted on Switch. The game shines on handheld devices. Future updates could significantly improve the overall experience. -Mikhail Madnani

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5

Aero The Acro-Bat 2 ($5.99)

A polished sequel to the original, Aero The Acro-Bat 2 delivers a solid 16-bit platforming experience. Ratalaika Games provides an improved emulation wrapper with enhanced features including box and manual scans, achievements, a gallery, and cheats. The inclusion of only the Super NES version is a minor drawback. A satisfying release for fans of the series and retro platformers.

SwitchArcade Score: 3.5/5

Metro Quester | Osaka ($19.99)

More of an expansion than a sequel, Metro Quester | Osaka provides a new dungeon, characters, and mechanics within the familiar turn-based RPG framework. Set in Osaka, this prequel requires careful planning and strategic gameplay. A rewarding experience for fans of the original and a great entry point for newcomers.

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5
