Looking back on the past year? Many apps offer year-end recaps, and Snapchat's new 2024 Snap Recap is here to help you relive your 2024 memories.

What is a Snap Recap?

Unlike similar features from Spotify or Twitch, the Snap Recap isn't a statistical breakdown. Instead, it's a fun, curated slideshow of your Snapchat moments. Snapchat selects a single Snap from each month of the year, offering a visual journey through your 2024. After the main recap, it seamlessly transitions into your Memories, showing flashbacks from the same dates in previous years.

How to Access Your 2024 Snap Recap

Your 2024 Snap Recap is automatically generated. To view it:

1. On the main Snapchat camera screen, swipe up to access Memories (don't press the shutter button).
2. Your 2024 Snap Recap will be prominently displayed as a highlighted video at the top of the Memories menu.

Tap the recap (avoiding the share icon) to start the slideshow. The recap plays automatically; tap the screen to advance through the snaps. You can save, edit, or share your recap like any other Snap, including posting it to your Story.

Why Don't I Have a Snap Recap?

If your Snap Recap isn't appearing, it's likely due to one of these reasons:

• Rollout Timing: Snapchat is releasing Recaps gradually. Yours may not be ready yet.
• Snap Frequency: The number of saved Snaps is a factor. Inconsistent use of Snapchat may prevent a recap from being generated.

Unfortunately, Snapchat Support currently doesn't offer a way to request a recap if one isn't automatically created.
