Techland Launches Free Tower Raid Mode for Dying Light 2

Techland is pushing the envelope with Dying Light 2 by introducing Tower Raid, a dynamic mode inspired by roguelite gameplay that promises unpredictable action and intense survival challenges. Following extensive testing last year, this eagerly awaited addition is now a permanent fixture in the game, providing players with a novel way to navigate the infected-ridden landscape.

In Tower Raid, players step away from Aiden Caldwell and assume the roles of one of four distinct warriors, each representing a unique combat archetype: Tank, Brawler, Ranger, or Specialist. These classes come with their own set of abilities, encouraging varied playstyles and strategic team play. For those seeking an ultimate test of skill, Tower Raid accommodates smaller teams or even solo ascents through the perilous tower.

The mode offers three difficulty settings—Quick, Normal, and Elite—which adjust the intensity and duration of each run. With procedurally generated sessions, no two tower ascents will be the same, featuring ever-changing floor layouts and enemy encounters that demand adaptability for survival.

To maintain engagement, Techland has implemented a new progression system where every defeat opens doors to new opportunities. Each unsuccessful run unlocks additional abilities and weapons, incrementally enhancing the player's chances in subsequent attempts. Within the tower, players can also meet Sola, a mysterious merchant offering exclusive rewards like the Office Day Outfit, Kuai Dagger, and Silenced Pistol to those adept enough to claim them.

While gearing up for the release of Dying Light: The Beast, Techland is steadfast in its commitment to enriching Dying Light 2 throughout 2025. Players can look forward to updates featuring enhanced co-op mechanics, refined matchmaking, expanded community map integration, new Tower Raid characters, an array of melee and ranged weapons, a new weapon class, improvements to the prologue, and significant graphical and technical optimizations.
