Freedom Wars Remastered Shows Off Gameplay Systems

Freedom Wars Remastered: Enhanced Gameplay and Visuals in New Trailer

Bandai Namco's recently released trailer showcases the gameplay and significant enhancements in Freedom Wars Remastered. This action RPG boasts improved visuals, refined game balance, a new difficulty setting, and numerous feature updates. Launching January 10th on PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC, the game promises a revitalized experience.

The game, originally a PlayStation Vita exclusive, shares a similar gameplay loop with the Monster Hunter series – a response to Capcom's decision to shift the Monster Hunter franchise to Nintendo consoles. Players take on the role of a "Sinner," battling colossal mechanical creatures called Abductors, harvesting their components, and upgrading equipment to enhance combat prowess. Missions, ranging from citizen rescues to Abductor eliminations and control system captures, can be tackled solo or cooperatively online.

The trailer highlights key improvements in Freedom Wars Remastered. Visual fidelity receives a substantial boost, with PS5 and PC versions achieving 4K (2160p) resolution at 60 FPS. PS4 offers 1080p at 60 FPS, while the Switch version runs at 1080p but at 30 FPS. Gameplay is faster-paced than the original, incorporating enhanced movement and weapon attack cancellation mechanics.

Crafting and upgrading have undergone a complete overhaul. The remastered version features more intuitive interfaces and allows for freely attaching and detaching modules. A new module synthesis feature enables players to upgrade modules using resources obtained from rescued citizens. Finally, a challenging "Deadly Sinner" difficulty mode caters to experienced players, and all original customization DLC from the PS Vita release is included from the outset.
