PUBG Mobile's Conservancy Event Protects 750k Sq Ft of Land

When it comes to protecting the planet, gaming has proven to be a surprisingly resourceful means of doing so. Despite the energy and resources that go into our favorite consoles, mobiles, and computers, the dedication of players has also helped raise money and protect the environment, as PUBG Mobile has been eager to point out through their recent conservation campaign.

PUBG Mobile's Play for Green campaign saw players exploring the ruins of Erangel across two distinct maps to showcase the effects of climate change. Meanwhile, the Run for Green event engaged 20 million players who collectively sprinted a staggering 4.8 billion kilometers. This effort translated into tangible real-world benefits by protecting 750,000 square feet of vital ecosystems in Pakistan, Indonesia, and Brazil.

While it's challenging to measure the less empirical data, such as encouraging conversations around climate change, there's no doubt that the dedicated fans have made a significant difference.

ytGreened upIt's clear that PUBG Mobile's conservation efforts have had a substantial impact. Their win at the 2024 Playing for the Planet awards for the Play for Green initiative is a testament to that. Although it's uncertain how well these initiatives have resonated with players, the combination of events and exclusive digital rewards that contribute to real-world conservation efforts is a smart strategy.

I must also commend PUBG Mobile for their attempts to make these events educational. While many participants were primarily interested in the rewards, it's likely that some players also gained valuable insights about environmental conservation.
