Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy's Misty Island: A Comprehensive Guide to Power Cells and Scout Flies

Misty Island, a significant location in Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, presents a challenge and reward for players brave enough to explore its secrets. This guide details how to access the island and collect all its Power Cells and Scout Flies.

Accessing Misty Island

Before venturing to Misty Island, you must assist the fisherman in the Forbidden Jungle's river by catching 200 pounds of fish. This earns you a Power Cell and access to the Speedboat in Sandover Village, your transport to Misty Island.

Power Cell 1: The Sculptor's Muse

Your first task is retrieving the Sculptor's Lost Muse, a golden creature resembling Daxter. Locate it near the docks. The Muse is elusive, requiring a chase across Misty Island. Utilize roll jumps and strategically break large bones to create pathways. Master the Muse's route to intercept it during sharp turns. Once captured, return the Muse to the Sculptor in Sandover Village for a Power Cell (save this for later).

Power Cell 2: Blue Eco and the Precursor Platform

Return to the Muse's location, turn right, and navigate a platforming section filled with blue eco orbs. Collect as much Blue Eco as possible and proceed to the Precursor Platform (see image 3). While charged with Blue Eco, touch the platform to cross the gap and obtain the Power Cell.

Power Cell 3: The Dark Eco Pool Arena

Prepare for an arena challenge! Charge with Blue Eco and enter the Precursor Door (mentioned above). Waves of Lurkers attack, alongside explosive projectiles. Utilize the Red Eco they drop for an advantage. Defeat the Lurkers to reveal stairs leading to the Dark Eco Pool and the Power Cell.

Power Cell 4: Atop the Lurker Ship

After the arena, turn right and cross the bridge to the Lurker Ship. Climb to the ship's top to claim the Power Cell.

Power Cell 5: Stop the Cannon

Ascend the ramp, dodging rolling and bouncing logs thrown by Lurkers. Utilize the side platforms for respite. Eliminate the two Lurkers near the cannon at the top for a Power Cell. Use the cannon to destroy metal boxes in the arena for additional Precursor Orbs.

Power Cell 6: Balloon Lurker Mayhem

Use the Zoomer (accessible via the Lurker Ship's opposite bridge) to eliminate five Balloon Lurkers patrolling the bay. Careful maneuvering is crucial to avoid mines. The Lurkers follow predictable paths, making strategic attacks easier. Defeating them awards a Power Cell.

Power Cell 7: Zoomer Acrobatics

Ride the ramp (image 1), turn right, navigate around the rock (image 2), and accelerate towards the edge. Perform a hop just before launching off to grab the Precursor Orbs and the Power Cell.

Scout Flies: Seven to Collect

Seven Scout Flies are hidden across Misty Island.

  • Scout Fly 1: During the Muse chase, use the seesaw and ground pound to reach the cliff.
  • Scout Fly 2 & 3: Located before the arena door (near the Blue Eco section, see image). Navigate the crumbling path and the gap to the left.
  • Scout Fly 4: After the arena, use the left-side seesaw to reach the cliff overlooking the Bay.
  • Scout Fly 5 & 6: Found on the Lurker Ship (past the bridge) and on a side platform halfway up the log-filled ramp.
  • Scout Fly 7: Near the top of the ramp used in "Use the Zoomer to Reach the Power Cell."

Once all Power Cells are collected and the Muse is returned, your Misty Island adventure concludes.
