Squad Busters nets 40 million installs in first thirty days, and $24m in net revenue

Supercell's Squad Busters, a MOBA RTS mobile game, achieved 40 million installs and $24 million in net revenue within its first month. While significant, this pales in comparison to Supercell's previous blockbuster successes. The US led in player numbers, followed by Indonesia, Brazil, Turkey, and South Korea.

However, concerning trends emerged. Spending decreased post-launch, with the $24 million significantly lower than Brawl Stars' $43 million and Clash Royale's $115 million first-month revenues in 2018 and 2016, respectively. Installations also declined sharply, peaking at 30 million in the first week before falling below five million by the end of the month.

Supercell Fatigue? Squad Busters' performance raises questions about potential Supercell fatigue. Its success, while notable, is overshadowed by the immense success of other titles like Honkai Star Rail, which generated $190 million in its first month. Squad Busters, fitting neatly into Supercell's existing game portfolio, might be suffering from market saturation. Only time will tell if it can overcome this hurdle.
