Marvel Rivals Addresses Low FPS Damage Issue Affecting Certain Heroes

Players of Marvel Rivals experiencing reduced damage output at lower FPS settings (particularly 30 FPS) can expect a resolution soon. The developers have acknowledged a bug impacting damage calculations for several heroes, including Dr. Strange and Wolverine, at lower frame rates. This issue stems from the game's client-side prediction mechanism, which, while intended to reduce lag, is currently causing inconsistencies in damage dealt at lower FPS.

The problem is more apparent when testing affected abilities (like Wolverine's Feral Leap and Savage Claw) against stationary targets. Although heroes like Magik, Star-Lord, and Venom have also been reported to be affected, a complete list of impacted heroes and abilities hasn't been officially released.

While a precise fix date is unavailable, the developers are actively working on a solution. The upcoming Season 1 launch on January 11th is expected to include a fix or significant improvement, addressing the damage inconsistencies for players on lower-end hardware. If the Season 1 update doesn't fully resolve the issue, further patches are planned.

Despite early concerns about hero balance, Marvel Rivals has been well-received, boasting an 80% player approval rating on Steam (based on over 132,000 reviews) since its December 2025 launch. This indicates strong community engagement and developer commitment to addressing player concerns.
