Many Marvel Rivals players are experiencing extended shader compilation times on launch. This guide offers a solution to speed up this process.

Game launches, particularly online titles, often involve a period of initial setup. However, Marvel Rivals PC players report significant delays (several minutes) due to shader compilation. Shaders are crucial programs managing lighting and color in 3D environments. Incorrect shader installation can lead to various problems. While the issue isn't due to user error, a community-discovered workaround exists.

A Marvel Rivals subreddit user, Recent-Smile-4946, provided a fix addressing both slow compilation and "Out of VRAM memory" errors. The solution involves adjusting Nvidia control panel settings:

  1. Access your Nvidia Control Panel.
  2. Navigate to global settings.
  3. Locate "Shader Cache Size."
  4. Set this value to a size less than or equal to your VRAM. (Note: Options are limited to 5GB, 10GB, and 100GB; select the closest value to your VRAM.)

This method reportedly reduces shader compilation time to mere seconds. While a permanent fix from NetEase is pending, this workaround offers a practical solution to avoid lengthy loading times.

Marvel Rivals is available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
